Translucent Loose Powder

Translucent Loose Powder (TLP) is is a clear, colourless powder that does not alter the colour or tone of your skin when applied. It is designed to be very light on your skin, and is preferred by most makeup artists to give a finished look. It also has much more staying power than pressed powders, to give a flawless, smooth result. It helps to blend blush and foundations together for a more natural look (so that you can't tell where one colour starts or stops).

TLPs that I have tried thus far has been NARS Translucent Loose Powder (Beach). I was given a small sample by a lovely SA at the flagship store in Galleries Victoria (in the City), after I was refused one at the Myers counter (not sure why, the other girls usually gave me samples). I tend to use it to set my concealer for my dark circles so that it won't melt during the day. At first it was great.. but then, maybe it was due to my poor application but it started to look a bit powdery and caked on. To my horror, it also emphasised fine lines! Anyhow, I have finished the sample and a few months ago, after some research and blog reading, I purchased 2 different drug store brands of TLP - Natio and Face of Australia.

I will be testing out the two of them to see which suits my skin better. It will have to be in a couple of weeks though, since my skin is just recovering from a freak breakout (ahh hormones, how I loathe thee...though, I have to say,  Avene has been very good to my skin...but that is for a later review).
Lately I have been using Almay TLC (Truly Lasting Colour) in 200 Light/Medium to set my foundation and concealer. I have to say, it is extremely velvety smooth and long lasting. I got it as a bonus gift with purchase at Priceline (buy an Almay foundation and receive a powder free).
Right.. I am off to look further into the 3 products I promised I would review..
Keep healthy and safe!
Mai
